Patti Page Written by Jesse Belvin & Curtis Williamson 1954 Originally recorded by The Crew Cuts in January 1955, it hit #3 on the charts In February 1955 it was released by Gloria Mann, and this version hit #18 on the Top 40 charts Redone in December 1955 by the Penguins.  Although this version only made it to #8 on the top 40 charts, it was a #1 R&B smash for three weeks, and is considered to be one of the most popular R&B records of all time. 31 years later the New Edition took the song to #21 on the charts.
