They had one Duaghter Beth Ellen Gatchell born 1970. He enlisted in the Air Force on August 8, 1955. He was released on August 7, 1969. with the rank of SMSGT (Senior master sergeant) the eighth enlisted rank (pay grade E-8). Burial was at Fort Snelling National Cemetery, Minneapolis, Hennepin County, Minnesota.
