Barb 64, Austin, Texas, formerly of Brainerd, died Monday, Sept. 9, 2002.
She was born Oct. 20, 1937, in Brainerd to Don and Goldie Raymond. After attending Hamline University she married John
Nash in 1960. She returned to Brainerd in 1971 and worked for two area doctors, Dr. Bill Fitzsimons until his retirement, and Dr. Bob Spence. In 1981 she moved with Spence and his practice to Austin, Texas. After several years of working for Spence, she transferred to city government where she served as assistant to the mayor for several years and coordinated various events, including a visit to Austin by former president Bill Clinton.
Survivors include her son, Michael Nash, Austin, Texas; two daughters, Julie Behrens, and Jill Rhea, both of Round Rock, Texas; four grandchildren; and a brother, Michael Raymond, Phoenix. An infant daughter, Deborah, and her parents died earlier.
Services will be 11 a.m. Friday at Northwest Hill United Methodist Church with the Rev. Bill Henderson officiating. Memorials are preferred to Hospice Austin's Christopher House, 4107 Spicewood Springs Road, Suite 100, Austin, Texas, 78759-8660.
