Gerald Lynn Soderman September 28, 1937 - - - November 15, 2019 Gerald Lynn Soderman, age 81, of Brainerd, died Friday, November 15, 2019 at Good Samaritan Society – Woodland in Brainerd. Memorial service will be held on Thursday, November 21, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at Bethel Lutheran Church, Brainerd. A visitation will be for one hour prior to the service on Thursday and interment will be in Bethel Lutheran Cemetery. Gerald was born to Fred and Emma (Aarhus) Soderman on September 28, 1938 in Brainerd. He graduated high school and was in the National Guard for three years prior to joining the Army in 1960 – 1963. He married his wife and mother of his children, Elizabeth Stortz, on August 17, 1963. While raising their children, Gerald was often on the road working various construction jobs. His favorite hobbies included fishing and cutting wood. Gerald was always happy and easy going. His sense of humor will be missed by many friends and family members. Gerald is survived by his two children, Keith (Jodi) Soderman, and Kathryn (Brad) Willemsen; five grandchildren, Trey and Trent Soderman, and Mitchell, Tyler and Bodie Willemsen; two great grandchildren, Lucas and Lillian Martinsen; two sisters, Barbara (Robert) Burgwald and Beverly (Benny) Britton; and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Emma Soderman; and his wife Elizabeth Soderman. Arrangements have been completed by Nelson-Doran Funeral Home, Brainerd.
